ID-Quiz for Fun !!
Each week we post some new pictures here on the Listening
Guide for this week's show, and we leave the names off.
It will be a good exercise for you to try to identify the
item in each picture. Some pictures will probably be easy to
identify, but others will probably be difficult. Tom and
Nevin will identify each picture during the first few
minutes of this show.
Mike from St. Louis calls and says he's had a pair of Synodontis multipunctatus catfish for a while and recently discovered a baby in his aquarium. This is amazing because Multipunctatus were thought to only lay their eggs in the midst of a spawning pair of mouthbrooding cichlids, then the female Cichlid picks up the Multipunctatus eggs and broods them in her mouth with her eggs. Mike says it's amazing, because he does not have the usual sort of mouthbrooders, but he does have a pair of Cyprichromis, which is a mouthbrooding species that spawns in mid water! Mike says pet fish are relaxing and amazing. Finally Mike gives new aquarists some good first advice. ;^ }
