Pet Fish Talk is Hosted by the Bailey
Brothers ...
Tom and Nevin
Bailey, two of America's Leading
Aquarists. They were both born and raised
in San Diego, California, and both
brothers graduated from San Diego State
University, where Nevin earned a degree in
Aquatic Biology, and Tom went on to earn
another degree at UCSD, the University of
California at San Diego.
The Bailey
Brothers,
Tom
and Nevin, are
shown here in a
studio hosting a
Pet Fish Talk show
about keeping pet
fish in aquariums,
fish bowls, and
ponds.
Here's another
picture
with Nevin on the left. Often known as The Bailey
Brothers, they've been partners in the tropical fish
business for over 40 years.
From 1969-1976 they were
partners in Bailey Brothers, a company that spawned and raised Fancy Livebearers,
Killifish, Freshwater Angels, and many species of African
Cichlids from Lakes Malawi and Tanganyika.
In 1976 they began building new
facilities, where they continued to breed
fish, and then to import rare wild fish.
They changed the name of their company to
Baileys Wholesale Tropical Fish, which
continues today to distribute pet fish and related items to
retailers.
In
January 2000, they began
AquariumFish.net – a website that sells
tropical fish and goldfish and has grown
to be the most popular site on the
internet about tropical fish and
goldfish.
In early 2002 the Bailey Brothers began
creating a new kind of “radio broadcast
over the internet” for pet fish
enthusiasts around the world.
In
June 2002, they launched the show, Pet
Fish Talk, over the internet and had an
incredible response, as the number of
listeners increased dramatically each
month.
The Bailey Brothers combine the perfect combination of charm, knowledge, and
easy-going personalities during their
broadcast. No listener, caller, or email
sender has a problem too great or too
small.
The
brothers play off of each other and the
audience to create an atmosphere that
anyone interested in “keeping pet fish
in aquariums, fish bowls, and ponds”
will find entertaining and informative.
They
want to get the best and most helpful
information out to the people who need
it, as Tom and Nevin tell their
listeners each week, “This is your talk
show ... so call us and talk.”
